I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT-10386) and I specialize in working with couples, families, and teens.  My approach to therapy is collaborative and focused on helping all clients feel safe and comfortable in sessions so that change is more likely to occur. I have worked with various ages, cultures, and presenting concerns in therapy since 2004.

I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which focuses on increasing closeness, connection, and secure attachments between partners.  This model can also be used with families and will increase connection, closeness, and attachments among family members.  EFT helps couples and families identify negative patterns of interactions that interfere with connection and closeness and allow partners to replace these negative patterns with patterns that increase connection and emotional safety in the relationship.  These experiences allow couples and families to heal past hurts and get unstuck from repetitive negative patterns.

I have advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), which is an empirically validated model for trauma therapy. This model focuses on resolving ongoing trauma symptoms by helping the brain process information that is uncomfortable or disturbing so that the information is less painful.  Following a successful EMDR session, a person no longer relives the images, sounds, and feelings when the event is brought to mind. You still remember what happened, but it is less upsetting.

I am an approved supervisor for Marriage and Family Therapists through the AzBBHE and provide supervision to professionals pursuing licensure in the state of Arizona.  I am currently in the process of becoming an AAMFT Approved Supervisor.
