My approach to therapy is one of nurturance and compassion. My specialization is in grief and loss concerns along with coping and mindfulness. Without support and coping skills, life stressors can get in the way of personal growth. While there is no right or wrong way to experience grief, my goal is to help clients work through the bereavement process and find safe, helpful ways to express and experience their grief. I work with families, couples, and individuals who are looking to create change in a safe and supportive environment. I strive to help clients develop the necessary resources and supports needed to live a sustainable and fulfilling lifestyle.
I utilize a collaborative approach, viewing my clients as experts of their own lives and families while I provide a clinical perspective creating a balanced partnership where growth and change can take place. I tailor my work to the unique needs of each client as I believe that each client deserves to have an individualized treatment plan focused on the aspects of life that they wish to work on. I am a systemically trained therapist, meaning I view problems within the context of a family’s environment. By incorporating this holistic view into my work, I am able to address all aspects of life that may be impacting current levels of well-being and success.
I have experience working with a wide array of clients all coming from diverse backgrounds with a variety of presenting emotional and behavioral health concerns. Some of these include: substance dependency, violence, abuse or neglect, marital or family conflict, and parenting.
I am pursuing licensure through the AZBBHE and currently working under supervision of Charise Schwertfeger, LMFT.
