I specialize in working with couples. I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), which research has identified as the most effective approach to success within couple’s therapy; increasing closeness, security, trust, and happiness. I provide couple’s therapy for all varieties of couples at any stage in their relationship. It may be that you are seeking pre-marital counseling prior to your marriage, maybe you are a new couple who just had a baby and are working through life’s transitions, or maybe you have noticed ongoing distress over the years and you are ready to make some changes, or maybe you are even nearing divorce. This approach is equally successful in all aspects of relationships and is highly successful in reducing conflict, building lasting connections, increasing closeness, and enhancing intimacy. I offer family therapy, which may include families of 2 or more people, up to and including the participation of extended family and friends if necessary.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. This modality is designed to address Trauma. Trauma can be any situation in your life which you felt was abnormally disturbing, stressful, or painful. I work with individuals to reprocess their memories and the negative emotions associated with that event, allowing them to once again regain control over their own life.
I am an approved Clinical Supervisor through the AZBBHE and provide supervision to other professionals in the field as they work towards state licensure. I am also currently pursuing my status as an AAMFT Approved Supervisor.
